Shafiq Mazloum created many sculptures using local and recycled materials, particularly scrap iron and steel which in the words of Mohamed Farsi ‘he imbued with life and meaning’.
The Palestinian-born sculptor and artist Shafiq Mazloum moved to Saudi Arabia in the late 1960s and worked in the Planning Office of Jeddah Municipality. Shafiq Mazloum died tragically young in a car crash in 1986.
